So MSS (Microsoft Software) did a mandatory (rude #1) update to Windows 10 on one of my systems. Is it the creator’s update? I don’t know. They don’t say after the update screen presented in Edge. And since it automatically opened the freshly updated Edge browser (rude #2) , why not check it out a bit for new features.
What happened (Edge):
- Edge Browser has about 2 dozen News pages open that I never opened. Looks like they are ALL games based and nearly identical (WTF #1).
- Start closing the TABs by clicking the little close X. I come across one with auto-play video and sound (rude #3). Since there are many TABs and this TAB has the audio volume icon, the close X is shifted off view and is unavailable (WTF #2).
- Try closing audio thinking this would help. It does nothing, keeps playing (WTF #3). Luckily, the sstm has no speakers else I might break another keyboard.
- Maximize window to widen TABs so I can get the close X.
- Finally close a bunch of TABs with no issues.
- Now I have about 5 interesting TABs left. And I see a couple new neat feats:
- Set aside tabs
- Tabs you’ve set aside
- Lets try it.
- Click “Set aside tabs” and All TABs gone.
- Open “Tabs you’ve set aside” and see 2 TABs (WTF #4) out of 5. Why did Edge “lose” 3 TABs?
- Look away. It is what MSS does.
Conclusion:
I am just a bug magnet and always have been. I should never test software since very unusual and rare bugs will flock to me. This has always been the case. Get used to it already.
Or:
MSS does not seem to do much real world testing of Edge before deployment. I have never worked for an employer or client that would allow such transgression found in just 5 mins of testing. With their $Bs, why don’t they have the most awesome, bug-free, user-friendly software in the solar system (WTF #5) ? Perhaps they are distracted…

MSS Edge has a history of issues. A common one is that updates frequently erase favorites. MSS has not provided a fix and continues to repeat the mistake. I keep asking myself “WHY?!” would such a large company continue as such. I use MSS Edge for non-critical issues such as testing, videos, music, and whatever. It is limited to just a few sites that I generally keep in my head. Please remember to take MSS products with exceptional caution. Yeah, Apple too.
