Surprise, I like fonts. Not with a passion but with a distraction.
I just can’t seem to find one that is universally easy on my eyes and very readable in both code and discourse. Verdana has been my goto, even for code. No serifs, compact line height, readable at small size though rough in code when needing a monospace font.
Since I like compact text, I disdain serifs. They are too much clutter. My eyes don’t seem to suffer since I don’t seem to have much issues with long days on 4x screens.
Resources I would like the time to review:
Inter UI font family
Seems perfect. Worth checking out.
- “Inter UI is a typeface specially designed for user interfaces with focus on high legibility of small-to-medium sized text on computer screens. “
- SIL Open Font License.
- I don’t remember where I initially fount it. Probably: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/the-inter-ui-font-family
FontBase font management tool
- https://fontba.se/
- “FontBase is build for designers, by designers.” (NOT my grammer)
- Mac, Windows, Linux.
- Free version and Awesome version ($).
